Hey You. Ready for the spiel?

I’m Joanna, a Senior level Copywriter. I hail from Boulder, Colorado. I’m currently living out an 'Eat-Pray-Love' adventure in Brighton, England. I’ve been fortunate enough to have a 10+ year career in advertising starting as an Account Manager, a Creative Producer in Post, and then finally as a Copywriter and Creative. I know the ins and outs of the industry and am not only a killer writer and conceptual creative, but someone who can respect a deadline and plays nice with clients. I am the swiss army knife of employees. I’m a dangerous combination of cynical and tender, in truth the best ideas often flow from this amalgamation. I am just as likely to cry at the sight of flowers as crack up about a fart joke. I’m feisty and want to make great work.

Truth be told, I spend my days observing. I observe all kinds of situations; in my yard, around my neighborhood, in the checkout line at the grocery store. I find myself studying tiny details and interactions and then I report back my findings and analysis of the given situation to the captive audience available to me. Be it the way someone pronounces “garage” or a certain topiary that has been cut into a perfect rectangle, I will catalogue this information for later entertainment.

Typically, the person I’m telling (my mom, husband, 4-year-old) stares at me in bewilderment, wondering how I came to said conclusion or perhaps wondering what overly processed food I ate too much of as a child that led me to this outcome. Once in a while I get a hearty laugh. I like to surround myself with bad fake laughers and a true laugh is my greatest pursuit. On rare occasions I get tears. I like to engage and entertain whomever will listen. Come along with me, it’s likely to be entertaining.
